ESP Test cards have been used in paranormal research to test peoples psychic abilities for decades. These types of cards were originally developed in the 1930's by J. B. Rhine and Karl Zener at the Duke University Psychology Department. These special cards consist of five different symbols: star, circle. square, cross and wavy lines. To test a persons telepathic ability two people are required, a "sender" and a "receiver". They should sit at a table directly across from each other. Everyone else present should be in a position so that they cannot see the card that the "sender" is holding, and should remain absolutely quite. The "sender" shuffles the cards thoroughly and then takes one card at a time, holding it up in front of their face, concentrating on the card for a short time. The "receiver" attempts to "read" the "sender's" mind and tell which card is being viewed. The "sender" writes down whether the "receivers" response was a "hit" (correct) or a "miss" (incorrect). This continues until all twenty-five cards in the deck have been used. The statistical odds are that the "receiver" will average five correct answers out of twenty-five cards. The higher amount of correct answers over this indicates a higher level of psychic abilities. ESP Test Cards can be purchased online at Esty.com. |
